Working Environments Furniture Wins R&D Grant

WE are proud to announce that Working Environments Furniture have won a grant via the Sustainable Innovation Fund with Innovate UK for the continued development of Morph, our modular furniture construction system.
As a company WE have always championed flexible furniture to increase the longevity of client capital investments in furniture and has seen increased demand for recycled and sustainable furniture amongst customers in recent years. It is the lack of options in this market that led us to develop Morph.
Our passion for flexible ranges has now been further validated with the onset of Covid-19, as companies try to reduce employee anxiety by giving confidence in the safety of their environment whilst maintaining an environment that attracts new talent.
The dominant characteristics of the pre-Covid-19 workplace were designed to support new ways of working and high levels of human interaction to fuel creativity, innovation, speed and agility. These attributes now pose challenges for the post-Covid-19 workplace and offices need to be redesigned. Our problem-solving experience in this industry over the last 28 years puts us in prime position to develop this product to solve current furniture problems. Morph is a new concept modular construction system made from 100% recycled materials and 100% recyclable. It will bring the flexibility and adaptability to offices of 2021 that they need to get staff back into the traditional workspaces.
This Grant will enable us to carry on our development work for a further 6 months and carry out live product testing early in 2021. At the end of the 6 months WE hope to have some of the products ready for market.
As Innovate UK Executive Chair Dr Ian Campbell said:
“In these difficult times we have seen the best of British business innovation. The pandemic is not just a health emergency but one that impacts society and the economy. The development of the Morph product, along with every initiative Innovate UK has supported through this fund, is an important step forward in driving sustainable economic development. Each one is also helping to realise the ambitions of hard-working people.”
So watch this space for product launches in early 2021 or opportunities to help test the new products!
